The first prize of Open Design Vicenza 2016 – international design contest – was awarded to Atomica Audio thanks to this hi-end speaker. Today it is available on our list after a meticulous technical improvement, to ensure the best sound together with its nostalgic and elegant appearance.
The chassis is made from okoumè and fraxinus wood. Its walls thickness varies from 1.25 to 2 inches and they are jointed with variable geometry frame members. The result is a box capable of rapidly scattering very high amount of energy allowing to position your speakers upon already existing pieces of furniture; this speaker can manage – when needed – very high sound pressures without a sign of parasitic vibrations.
The side knob allows the user to mechanically adjust the Atomica Reflex (patented). Thanks to this special device, resonance frequency can be tuned or the speaker can be turned into an acoustic-suspension design, depending on room positioning or listener’s tastes.
Every single detail is taken care of. The knob, the nubs, and the connectors are made from solid brass rods with manual turning.
